Since the early 1990s
Roto FTT founded a sales subsidiary in Warsaw back in 1992 and a large central warehouse for delivering to building element manufacturers in Northeastern Europe in the summer of 2000. More than 100 members of staff now shape the future of Roto Frank Okucia Budowlane Sp. z o.o. With the acquisition of the Deventer Group in 2016, Roto FTT became owner of a sealing profile plant in Poland and has continuously expanded its production capacity ever since.
In 1994, Roto DST purchased a factory building suitable for roof window production in the Polish town of Lubartów. This is where around 420 employees now produce PVC and timber roof windows. The product range also includes flashing, connection products, inner linings and interior fittings for roof windows.
Sales and logistics for hardware technology
Joanna Skalbaniok took over management of Roto Frank Okucia Budowlane in October 2021 and welcomed attendees to the newly opened showroom in Warsaw at the 20th International Roto Trade Press Day on 12th November. In her speech, Skalbaniok emphasised that the company acts “in close proximity to customers” in Northeastern Europe too. The basis for the lasting success in the region is the extensive range of services provided by staff in the distribution centre as well as the logistics centre connected to it.
Roto FTT enjoys an excellent reputation not least because of its exemplary reliability. Hardware components which are frequently required by customers can be dispatched very quickly if necessary. “Our warehouse keeps large quantities of the majority of our most popular items in stock at all times.” The outstanding delivery performance is thanks to a globally established, digitised production and procurement process.
Sealing profile production in Sosnowiec
Roto Frank Okucia Budowlane is also in close contact with the Deventer Production department in the Polish city of Sosnowiec. Skalbaniok is certain that, by now, all customers are familiar with the seals from the Deventer Group, which was acquired in 2016: “The system expertise that Roto has continuously built up through acquisitions over the past few decades makes the company an even more attractive partner.” The majority of the PVC, TPE and TPV sealing profiles produced in Sosnowiec go on to be processed in Poland and its neighbours in Northeastern Europe, while smaller quantities are exported to other countries in Europe. Deventer employs an average of 60 members of staff in Poland.
Roof window production in Lubartów
The production capacity of Roto DST in the Polish town of Lubartów has been continuously expanded over the past 20 years. Tomasz Miron (50) is responsible for all Roto DST plants in his role as Global Head of Production Plants DST. He emphasises: “All plants share the same requirements for the quality of the primary material, processing, process efficiency and, of course, delivery reliability.” And that’s not all – in Lubartów, production waste from machining timber is turned into pellets which are used to heat the buildings. The production manager explains: “In the Roto DST plants, we systematically implement a range of measures to reduce our use of resources and energy.”
Roto DST works together with specialist dealers in Poland as well as in Germany to ensure that fabricators receive all the support they need. Tightly sealed windows and doors with a low U value are very important to planners and builders in the country. “97% of roof windows sold have triple glazing and achieve a U value of 1.1 or less,” reports Miron. Half of the customers who buy roof windows from Lubartów still opt for timber versions, while the other half choose PVC. The production manager looks towards the future: “There is a noticeable trend towards PVC and this naturally suits Roto with its many years of experience in the production of PVC windows.”
